Red Hook: All Urban Decay + Hip Restaurants

Near shipping yards, the Carnival cruise port of exit and entry, Ikea, and the Red Hook ball fields, new boutiques and restaurants dot main drag Van Brunt St. in Red Hook.  Fort Defiance is fantastic – and I hear good things about home/made, baked (a bakery), hope and anchor and o’barone’s.  Definitely worth some foodie perusals.

At Fort Defiance I had the Eggs Savannah – scrambled eggs with biscuits and fried chicken.  Amazing combination for a late breakfast – rocking a full bar, and beers on draft and a gregarious tattooed bartender who doesn’t look like she takes shit from anyone, next time I can’t wait to try their cocktail selection.
