Supper Club – July 1, 2010

First of July Supper Club – on the menu:

Homemade Babaganoush with Pita Bread

Paella with Chorizo and Shrimp

Dessert: Mango and Blood Orange Ciao Bella Sorbet

To drink: a Rose wine and an Albarino

Location: my apartment

Below: Leah shows off her guns – she’s demonstrating her right to bear arms on July 4th.  Just kidding – she’s demonstrating why she deserves to take a foodie vacation to Spain!

Pri gets a big glass of rose.  She had a hard day.

Homemade babaganoush – creamy with a kick.  Easier than I thought it would be.  Combine overly roasted eggplant mush with yogurt, tahini, lemon and garlic.

I am demonstrating the proper placement of the shrimp into the paella.

Et voila!  Incredibly delicious paella if I do say so myself!

Ingredients: Garlic, Red Peppers, Onions, Arborio Rice, Peas, Artichoke Hearts, Shrimp, Chorizo, Cilantro and a little s and p.  Its absolutely heavenly – I insist you try some.

I love this photo.

This edition of Supper Club was concluded with a viewing of Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin in Remember Me (yes the day after Eclipse was released into theaters) – a romantic drama filmed last summer in New York boasting the likes of Lena Olin and Pierce Brosnan as Robert Pattinson’s divorced parents.  And the actress playing R. Pats’ little sister was fantastically adorable.  There’s a twist at the end – I think we all enjoyed it more than we thought we would – Priyanka this includes you.
