Supper Club: May 10, 2010

Supper Club at Pri’s house in North Brooklyn. Room accoutrements.

Guests: Pri, myself and Leah – Who was late?  Me and Leah.  Who was latest?  Me.

Tackling for dinner: Make your own sushi using non-fish ingredients such as avocado, carrots, prosciutto, baked tofu (apparently for adventurous eaters) and cucumbers.  Accompaniments: miso soup, mochi ice cream and raspberry sorbet.

Highlights: perfectly ripe avocados – thanks Dean and Deluca (and Pri), Riesling (delicious), and mastering rolls but not certainly not hand rolls.

Activities: reminiscing about great random, drunken nights we’ve had (including the night of Head Room’s Spring Fling and the Thao concert + THE NIGHT AT THE ROCKET – which is a London event I was not around to experience, but oh were there photos), reading trashy magazines, and coming to the consensus that Pri needs to be less mature and more free with the flow of booze into her responsible self.   Let the games begin.

Ta da!  The finished product!  Not too shabby – eh?  (There was more than this, but we left out the nubs for visual effect)

  1. aah you guys beat us at having the nonfish sushi NYT-inspired night!!!!: )

    All looks great as always.

    • You forgot the delicious edamame I brought (I felt a little bad being late when I had the appetizers).

Susan told me the next day that you are supposed to cut the seaweed in half for the hand rolls otherwise you have too much spare seaweed. Oops :)
