Supper Club: April 15, 2010

After a brief hiatus to nurse the injured wrist, Supper Club is back.  April 15, 2010: Tax Day Edition.

Where: My apartment in Park Slope (#1 most liveable neighborhood in New York as voted by New York Magazine – maybe the 5th or 6th time I’ve touted this)

Menu:

Pasta with Sardines, Bread Crumbs and Capers a la Mark Bittman (that man has some damn good recipes) -note: red pepper flakes are a fantastic addition, also substituted cilantro for parsley to give it a lighter herb

Arugula (Rocket for you Brits / former British colonies) Salad with Lima Beans, Feta, and Grape Tomatoes with a Balsamic Vinagrette

Dessert: Street Sweets courtesy of Leah which included a pumpkin whoopie pie, peanut butter cookie and Macroonette (macroon sandwich with nutella spread)

Highlights: We watched SNL while Priyanka gave Leah and I massages.  I reciprocated by side braiding everyone’s hair.  Then we cuddled.  It was just like a slumber party.

  1. That Macroonette sounds like a swell idea :) I want!

    • It is actually called a Macarella (which makes a lot more sense given that it has nutella and is not a creepy looking puppet) and it is delightful.

  2. Haha yes – Macarella – I knew Macroonette was incorrect, but somehow sounds fun. Heeey macarella. That was the Hey Macarella dance in the vein of the Macarena if you were wondering :)
