Weekend’s foodie haunts:

– Lucali  in Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens – 2nd best pizza in New York?  Quite possibly a sane claim – it was pretty darn good despite the 2 hour wait

– Le Burger Joint at The Parker Meredien

– Burritos at Dos Toros

Other bits of excitement – non food related:

– Whitney Biennial 2010

– Empire State Building – 102nd Floor – strangely enough even 100+ floors up, you can still hear the city’s sirens and traffic (also spotted: 230 Fifth)

– Assscat at Upright Citizens Brigade – Jack MrBrayer performed – he’s just Kenneth the Page in every way and form

* Hosting tourists is exhausting.  Note to self: if you’re showing people around the city and walking from the Upper East Side to Chelsea, forget the gym in the morning.  It’s a lost cause.  Not that you can wake up for it anyhows.

  1. If Lucali is the second best what is your vote for best? Franny’s?

    • Lucali is the second best according to Yelpers – I think I’d agree but not sure which pizza joint actually gets the privilege of being BEST PIZZA IN NY. Franny’s sausage/fennel pasta dish overshadows their pizza for me – perfection, with a Meyer Lemon Martini.
